Chadwick’s art is really interesting as it able to combine different elements: Chadwick’s studies of architecture reflect in the geometry of the lines that form the statues, which make an interesting contrast to the white gentleness of the classical statues which everyday embellish Boboli garden.
The statues reflects two different periods but surprisingly they speak the same language: Chadwick’s statues, as the classical statues, harmonize perfectly with the nature around themselves. The statues in fact are often creatures that reminds animals, insects or humanized animals.
Chadwick’s rich fantasy did not finish here: having a past as Aviator, Lynn wanted the statues being visible also from above, in fact they communicate dynamism and lightness.
14 statues will be visible in Boboli and 10 in Bardini garden: 24 different ways to meet this important artist which enriches the visitor’s path around Florence. A Florence that become more international as this exhibition reflects Lypiatt Park in Gloucestershire, England.
Lynn Chadwick’s works are today exposed at MoMa in New York, the Tate Gallery in London and the Centres Pompidou in Paris. There no need to say that you can not miss them in Florence.
