If you are looking for the best view of Florence, the Piazzale Michelangelo has the most beautiful view of the city. Day or night, this is my favorite place to visit in all of Florence by far. At sunset, the view is breathtaking and many times when the weather is perfect, there are performers playing live music on the steps. It is a hike up to the top is well worth it because of the scenary, but there is a city bus for those who are not interested in walking.
