An extraordinary exhibition of "The Cinquecento in Florence" dedicated to the greatest exponents of the 16th century Florentine, including Michelangelo, Pontormo, Giambologna, will be hosted by Palazzo Strozzi from September 21 2017 toJanuary 21 2018.
Exhibition Period: the exhibition is open from 21 September 2017 to 21 January 2018.
Open Ticket: The ticket gives access to the exhibition at the date and time the visitor chooses. Therefore, please select only an indicative date in the booking form, regarding the time you can visit the exhibition between 10.00 and 20.00. On Thursdaythe show closes at 23.00. The ticket office closes an hour before.

THE EXHIBITION
An extraordinary exhibition of "The Cinquecento in Florence" dedicated to the greatest exponents of the 16th century Florentine, including Michelangelo, Pontormo, Giambologna, will be hosted by one of the most important palaces in Florence :Strozzi Palace.
More than seventy works, including paintings and sculptures, will be exhibited by artists as Michelangelo Buonarroti, known thanks to "Il Giudice Universale" in Rome and his sculptures including the famous white marble "David" Florence;Pontormo, Giorgio Vasari, Giambologna, Santi di Tito, Bartolomeo Ammannati also recognized by the history of art as important artists.
The organization of the exhibition follows a chronological and a thematic order, between Mannerism and the Controversial Period.
Among the most celebrated works we can admire the Cristo Deposto, coming directly from the Musée des Beaux-Arts et d'Archéologie in Besançon in France, la Deposizione of Pontormo from the Church of Santa Felicita in Florence, the Deposizione from the Cross of Rosso Fiorentino from Civic Museum of Volterra, the Resurrezione of Santi di Tito from the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence, the Dio Fluviale of Michelangelo by the Academy of Arts and Design.

Junior: children between the ages of 6 and 18.
Free: children under 6 years old, disabled with accompanying person, class teachers, tour guides, visitors with Florence card.

The Strozzi Palace
In 1489 Filippo Strozzi commissioned the Palace to Benedetto da Maiano and it is a brilliant example of Florentine renaissance architecture.
The strong stone façades are clearly articulated at the ground floor by the doorway and on the upper floors by the renaissance style windows decorated with three half moons of the Strozzi family emblem. Inside the palace the spaces are articulated around the magnificent courtyard, formed by architectural features in classical pietra serena (grey sandstone). It was designed by Simone del Pollaiolo said the Chronicle. The palace is today a centre for important exhibitions.

Half ticket: senior visitors over 65, organized groups of at least 10 people, young people under 26 years of age.
Junior ticket: children aged 7 to 18 years of age.
Free price ticket (no reservation needed): children aged 6 and under, disabled persons’ companions, group leaders, teachers (if accompanying their class), journalists with professional ID, tour guides.
