Palazzo Strozzi Beato Angelico exhibition Private Tour

Rothko
Palazzo Strozzi exhibition with private guide
From March 14 to August 23, 2026, Palazzo Strozzi hosts a major exhibition dedicated to Mark Rothko, one of the most influential figures of American modern art. The exhibition has been specially conceived for Florence, highlighting the dialogue between Rothko’s artistic research and the city’s historical and architectural context. Through color, the artist explores the balance between classical harmony and expressive freedom, transforming the painted surface into a deeper perceptual space.
The exhibition brings together more than 70 works from important private collections and leading international museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Tate, the Centre Pompidou and the National Gallery of Art, offering a comprehensive overview of Rothko’s artistic development.
WHEN: from 14 March to 23 August 2026. Every day including holidays.
Time: the tour can be organized with a starting time between 10.00 and 18.00. On Thursday evening, during the evening opening, the tour can also start between 8.00 pm and 9.00 pm.
