Tour description

The exclusive opportunity to visit the ACCADEMIA GALLERY skipping the long line and avoiding much of its crowd, being among the very first to enter, with an English speaking guide.
The Accademia Gallery is world-renowned for housing the authentic Michelangelo’s David statue, probably the most famous statue in the world.
The long lines to enter this museum usually last for hours. This is the only tour that will give you the opportunity to be among the very first to enter the museum, skipping the long lines and mostly avoiding the noisy crowd you usually find inside.
The David was sculpted by a very young Michelangelo (in his twenties) entirely from a single block of local Carrara marble and it's 5.17 metres tall (17 ft). It represents the biblical hero David that killed Goliath and when it was unveiled, in 1504, it soon came to symbolize the defense of the civil liberties embodied in the Florentine Republic.
Discover this sculpture masterpiece enjoying the personalized attention that only an EXCLUSIVE SMALL-GROUP tour like this can provide.
A professional English-speaking guide will reveal all the secrets about David, and the other masterpieces hosted in this museum. A truly immersive experience that will bring David to life.
Admire also Michelangelo's famously unfinished sculptures – Prigioni and San Matteo.
The Accademia Gallery houses also many other masterpieces, both paintings and sculptures, from the Middle Ages to Renaissance, by the greatest artists, like Botticelli, Paolo Uccello, Andrea del Sarto and many more, which you will discover with your knowledgeable English-speaking guide.
At the end of the tour, you can exit the museum or decide to remain inside to continue visiting it on your own, as long as you want.
A nice and interesting booklet on the tour and the city will be our present that you can take back home with you to remember this wonderful experience.

Accademia Tour: the Itinerary

Why is the David the most recognizable symbol of Florence and what did he represent in his time? How did the genius of Michelangelo confront the challenge of creating figures of compassion like the Pietà, or the famous Prisoners who still seem to struggle free from their marble blocks? Have a close encounter with these timeless works of art and get the inside story of the life and time of this consummate artist. The Academy also houses an important collection of paintings from the 14th to the 16th century, plaster casts of famous statues going back to the 19th century, and impressive holdings of Russian icons. Linger as long as you like; at the end of the tour, you are welcome to remain in the galleries on your own until closing time.
